Columbus rapper NiQ’s majestic debut album ‘Monopoly’, hosted and remixed by DJ Giovanny, is available for the first time for free download. On it, the duo revisit the material that preceded 2009′s, ‘SEC: the Mixtape’, their first collaboration.

On Monopoly, NiQ commands the artistic firepower of some of Ohio’s’ best producers to deliver a rebellious sonic journey – one driven by his lyrical mastery and charismatic personality. Between it’s initial release and the arrival of his last project “BANGMYSH*T“, NiQ’s music has gained increasing exposure, and with his buzz currently at an all time high, the pair found the time was right to remind their fans of what started it all.

(Press Release) – Apr 11, 2011 – Most twenty-somethings dream of becoming a success, and one day making their parents proud. NiQ, a twenty-something rapper, dreams of becoming a global music icon, and one day putting his neighborhood on the pop culture map. On Saturday, April 30th, NiQ will compete in the Seminfinals of the ‘Are You Radio Ready’ contest, sponsored by Pepsi and WCKX 107.5 Columbus . It’s a chance to finally get his hit single ‘Rocker’ onto national radio, and he’s looking to keep the spotlight once he has it.

The event headliner will be Cleveland rapper, MGK, on the first stop of his 2011 tour. As their true fans will know, this isn’t the first time NiQ and MGK have worked together. They together repped the ‘I Am Ohio’ mixtape, and performed last year at Al Rosa Villa. At that epic performance the crowd got a taste of what the future held for these two, and now poised for even greater success, their return to Skully’s it will bring it full circle for them and their fans. Cleveland has it’s new star in MGK and it’s time for Columbus to see that NiQ is their new star.

Okay guys, I know we we’re expecting to drop Bang yesterday and there was a lot of uproar via phone and email. Not to worry the tape is still on the way. However due to better reception by blog sites we have decided to push it back to Monday, July 5th. This gives the blogosphere and local media a bit more time to extend us some coverage and gives you a chance to come down to see NiQ and Dj Fie @ Red, White, and Boom on Friday to hear some of the Bang tracks early.
