- It’s the classic way to enter to the rap game. Get a job as a mortgage salesman, then lose it due to a recession and a collapsing housing market, then hit the studio. OK, maybe it’s not the standard way of entering hip-hop, but there’s very little that’s standard about NiQ. Abbreviating the term “unique” in his stage name, the Columbus, Ohio native makes both club-bumping tunes that will have you ready to party and mind-stimulating jams that may cause you to sit down and ponder a little.
